Ac., is a licensed and national board-certified acupuncturist since 2004. She incorporates Classical Chinese and Japanese acupuncture into a holistic health practice which includes traditional herbal medicine, nutrition and dietary therapy, qi gong, vibrational healing, and health coaching. Cynthia loves working with people on their healing journey who are interested in true healing and transformation. Cynthia offers facial rejuvenation acupuncture, ancient Chinese face reading, and microneedling. Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). TCM is a system of healthcare that has evolved over thousands of years to, diagnose, treat, and prevent disease. According to the principles of TCM, if the vital energy is balanced, one experiences spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Dis-ease may occur when the energy is imbalanced, stagnant, or blocked. Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific points, which improves the flow of blocked or stagnant energy. This restores the free flow of energy and assists the body to restore balance. Acupuncture is a safe and effective method to treat many health issues, including but not limited to pain, the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Most visits to physicians are for stress-related conditions which are often helped with acupuncture. Cynthia has over 20 years of experience treating patients with a wide variety of conditions.

Acupuncture has been used for millennia in China to enhance beauty and longevity of royalty. The practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is known for its holistic and natural approach towards health, healing, and beauty. Acupuncture and herbal medicine (internal and external) can help hormonal imbalances and inflammation, which damage the skin. Holistic beauty treatments address the whole person, inside and out to help the face look radiant and healthy. The insertion of very fine needles into specific face and body points helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost collagen production, improve skin texture and tone, and reduce acne. Facial acupuncture can also help alleviate trigeminal neuralgia and Bell’s Palsy (facial paralysis). Facial acupuncture is not an instant fix or one-time treatment; most skilled practitioners recommend 10-12 sessions to achieve the desired results, before moving to the maintenance stage. Cynthia chooses acupoints based on each person’s unique constitution and health imbalances, which she diagnoses using the ancient methods of TCM. She can also recommend dietary therapy and herbal formulas to enhance the results of facial rejuvenation acupuncture.

Herbal Medicine Consultations

The practice of traditional Chinese Medicine is a sophisticated system involving hundreds of herbs and formulas. Cynthia uses both ancient and modern formulas to help people with conditions such as digestive disorders, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, menopausal hot flashes, pain, metabolic disorders, chronic skin conditions, and more. Herbal formulas can be taken as tea, tablets, capsules, or tinctures. Cynthia recommends herbal medicine after performing a thorough assessment and diagnosis. Lifestyle, diet, age, and medications are considered when developing a treatment strategy. The cost of medicinal herbs is not included in the 60-minute consultation. Cynthia custom orders the highest quality medicinal herbal formulas, which are only available for purchase by licensed acupuncturists/herbalists. Microneedling

Microneedling involves introducing thousands of microchannels into the skin with the AcuMicro Plus+ microneedling pen. This stimulates the body to activate its own natural healing mechanism, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin which rejuvenates skin from the inside out. Microneedling reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, brightens complexion, improves skin texture and elasticity, reduces discoloration, and boosts circulation. Cynthia’s microneedling treatments include the application of a Chinese herbal serum applied with hyaluronic acid. The herbal serum is chosen based on each person’s unique needs. After-care instructions are given along with a small amount of herbal serum. A series of 3 -4 monthly treatments is recommended initially, depending on your goals. Depending on the person, maintenance treatments are scheduled every 4-6 months.

Nutritional Consultations

Cynthia integrates her knowledge and experience of modern functional nutrition with ancestral dietary practices. Each nutrition consultation includes a health history, symptom questionnaire and food diary in addition to a TCM evaluation and diagnosis. (A reduced fee is offered for current patients who have already been evaluated). After analyzing the information, a second visit is scheduled during which Cynthia presents nutrition recommendations which may include supplements. Patients are under no obligation to purchase supplements. For convenience, Cynthia uses Fullscript, an online supplement dispensary which ships orders directly to patients. Patients can also choose to purchase products locally, where available. Cynthia recommends reevaluations every 60-90 days, to assess progress and ensure goals are being met.

More About Cynthia:

  • Cynthia holds a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) degree from Five Branches University. She concurrently earned a Medical Qigong Practitioner certification and Integrative Sports Medicine certification. Cynthia also completed an externship at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Cynthia has worked in private practice since 2004 in California and Oregon. She taught in various clinical settings for 4 years at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland while maintaining a private practice, working with doctors and other healthcare providers. Cynthia is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) since 2004. She is licensed to practice acupuncture by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, and certified as a Health Coach by The American Council on Exercise (ACE).
